Driving Safety Lessons for the Next Generation: Mercedes-Benz and Safe Kids Worldwide Launch Clifford Takes a Ride

In a collaborative effort to promote passenger and pedestrian safety, Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) and Safe Kids Worldwide have launched a new children's book, "Clifford Takes a Ride." The book, featuring the beloved character Clifford the Big Red Dog, aims to educate young readers on essential safety tips for navigating vehicles and roads. To further their mission, MBUSA and Safe Kids Worldwide have embarked on a nationwide book and safety tour, reaching thousands of families across the country.

Empowering the Next Generation with Essential Safety Knowledge

Bringing Safety Lessons to Life through Beloved Characters

The partnership between MBUSA and Safe Kids Worldwide has resulted in the creation of "Clifford Takes a Ride," a captivating children's book that follows the journey of the iconic Clifford the Big Red Dog. By leveraging the popularity of this beloved character, the book is able to effectively convey crucial safety messages to young readers in an engaging and relatable manner. The book's distribution through Mercedes-Benz dealerships and Safe Kids Worldwide coalitions ensures that these important lessons reach families across the country.

Launching a Nationwide Book and Safety Tour

To celebrate the book's release and raise awareness about passenger and pedestrian safety, MBUSA and Safe Kids Worldwide have kicked off a four-city book and safety tour. The tour began with an event in Atlanta, where more than 500 enthusiastic campers from the YMCA of Metro Atlanta gathered to participate in interactive safety education stations, a bike rodeo, helmet fittings, and pedestrian crossing activities. The tour will continue to reach families in Jacksonville, Florida, Coppell, Texas, and Hamilton Township, New Jersey, with the support of MBUSA employee volunteers.

Empowering the Next Generation through Collaborative Efforts

The Clifford Takes a Ride initiative is part of MBUSA's corporate social responsibility program, "Driving Your Future," which aims to empower the next generation through educational programs focused on technology, sustainability, career readiness, and injury prevention. By partnering with Safe Kids Worldwide and the YMCA, MBUSA is able to leverage its resources and expertise to create a meaningful impact on communities across the country.

Inspiring Safety Awareness through Engaging Experiences

The book launch and safety tour events have been designed to captivate and educate young participants. The inclusion of MBUSA Brand Ambassador Matt Ryan, a former Atlanta Falcons quarterback, and the appearance of Clifford the Big Red Dog himself, have added an extra layer of excitement and engagement for the children involved. Through interactive activities and hands-on learning experiences, the tour aims to instill essential safety knowledge and empower families to prioritize safety in their everyday lives.

Driving Positive Change through Collaborative Partnerships

The partnership between MBUSA and Safe Kids Worldwide is a testament to the power of collaboration in driving positive change. By combining their resources, expertise, and commitment to community, the two organizations have created a comprehensive initiative that not only educates children on safety but also fosters a sense of community and empowerment. This collaborative approach serves as a model for other organizations looking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families.
